President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the traditional ruler of Aba, His Majesty Eze Isaac Ikonne, as both marked significant personal milestones on January 1.
In a message to Governor Ododo on his birthday, President Tinubu described the Kogi State leader as one of the youngest governors in Nigeria and commended his transition from accounting to public service. Ododo previously served as Auditor-General for Local Governments in Kogi State before his election as governor in 2023.
The president praised the governor’s people-centred policies and programmes, urging him to further deepen the impact of his initiatives across the state. He joined the people and government of Kogi State in wishing Governor Ododo a happy birthday and a prosperous New Year.
In a separate message, President Tinubu congratulated His Majesty Eze Isaac Ikonne, Enyi 1 of Aba, on his 97th birthday and the 52nd anniversary of his reign. Eze Ikonne, a former chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, is one of Nigeria’s longest-reigning monarchs and a respected traditional leader.
The president described the first-class monarch as a custodian of culture and tradition, as well as a symbol of peace, unity, and progress. He also acknowledged the monarch’s role as a stabilising influence in his domain and beyond. Eze Ikonne is the father of Prince Paul Ikonne, former chief executive of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA).
President Tinubu joined the Ikonne family, the people and the government of Abia State in celebrating the monarch, wishing him continued good health and many more years of peace and progress.
