The ARISE with Renewed Hope Initiative, a pro-All Progressives Congress (APC) socio-political group, has been launched in Akwa Ibom State with a commitment to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Governor Umo Eno made this known on Monday at the Government House, Uyo, while receiving members of the group. He said peace and unity were critical to sustainable development in the state and expressed confidence that the APC would record significant victories in the 2027 polls.
Commending the composition of the group, the governor described it as a reflection of the Akwa Ibom spirit of unity and said its activities would complement efforts to advance his administration’s ARISE Agenda.
Eno also urged residents of the state to participate actively in the Independent National Electoral Commission’s ongoing voter registration exercise and to engage peacefully in the democratic process.
Earlier, the President General of the group, Engr Stephen Uwem Okoko, said ARISE with Renewed Hope was formed by like-minded individuals determined to rally support for the re-election of President Tinubu, the return of Akpabio as Senate President and the continuation of Governor Eno’s leadership beyond 2027.
Okoko said the Tinubu administration had improved Akwa Ibom’s integration with the Federal Government and described Akpabio as a strong advocate of the state’s interests at the national level.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the group, Sir Victor Antai, said the synergy between Governor Eno and Senate President Akpabio had reshaped the political landscape of the state, adding that the group would fully support APC candidates in 2027.
Also speaking, the Akwa Ibom State Chairman of the APC, Obong Stephen Ntuekpo, assured the group of inclusion in the party’s campaign structure, adding that the initiative plans to visit the Senate President and embark on a local government tour ahead of its grand launch.
