President Bola Tinubu returned to Nigeria on Friday after leading a Nigerian delegation to the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026) in the United Arab Emirates.
During the summit, Nigeria signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the UAE, aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
The agreement is expected to boost bilateral trade and investment, enhance technology transfer, and expand collaboration in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, mining, and renewable energy.
On the sidelines of the event, President Tinubu announced that Nigeria will host a joint Nigeria–UAE INVESTOPIA forum in Lagos in February. The investment forum is designed to attract global investors and showcase economic opportunities in the country.
Addressing participants at the summit, the President also disclosed Nigeria’s plan to mobilise up to 30 billion dollars annually for climate and green industrial finance. He said the funding would support the country’s energy transition reforms and efforts to expand electricity access nationwide.
Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is a global platform that brings together leaders from government, business, and civil society to advance sustainable development and climate action.
