President Bola Tinubu has extended warm birthday greetings to two of his ministers, Mariya Bunkure, Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, describing both as dedicated public servants committed to national development.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday, the President commended Mariya Bunkure for her contributions to the ongoing transformation of the FCT.
He highlighted her background as a medical consultant in community health and her previous service as Commissioner for Higher Education in Kano State, describing her professional journey as a testament to visionary leadership.
President Tinubu praised Bunkure’s efforts in strengthening institutions, improving educational standards, and championing policies aimed at uplifting communities, particularly the most vulnerable. He also acknowledged her advocacy for women’s empowerment, noting her commitment to creating opportunities for women and young girls.
The president prayed for renewed strength, wisdom, and good health for Bunkure as she continues her service to the nation.
On Senator Abubakar Kyari, through a statement issued on Thursday, the president highlighted his long record of public service, including his tenure as a member of the House of Representatives, two-time Senator, former acting Chairman of the APC, and Commissioner in Borno State, where he oversaw multiple ministries.
Tinubu lauded Kyari’s leadership in promoting mechanisation in agriculture, improving food security, and fostering economic resilience. “Through well-thought-out reforms and policies, you have helped the administration reduce food inflation, stabilise prices, strengthen value chains, and reposition agriculture as a viable and profitable enterprise,” the president said. He also commended Kyari for encouraging youth participation in agriculture, nurturing a new generation engaged in farming as a sustainable livelihood.
