President Bola Tinubu has congratulated two of his close associates, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde ‘Abena’ and Prince Ade Omole, as they mark their birthdays on January 9, praising their dedication to public service, professionalism and national development.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Thursday, the President lauded Hon. Abegunde, a former two-term member of the House of Representatives representing Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency of Ondo State, for his steadfast commitment to public service and good governance.
Abegunde, a trained civil engineer who later studied architecture, also served as Secretary to the Ondo State Government and is currently the Executive Director, Corporate Services, at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). President Tinubu noted his strong grassroots appeal, loyalty to leadership and resilience through both triumphs and challenges in politics.
The President also highlighted Abegunde’s international professional experience, having served as a systems engineer in the United States with the State of Maryland and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
“In politics, Abegunde’s dedication to public service and good governance has always been evident. As an associate, he remained loyal, consistent and steadfast at all times,” President Tinubu said, wishing him long life and continued service to the nation.
In a statement on Friday, President Tinubu also extended warm birthday wishes to Prince Ade Omole, an ICT executive, legal professional and public affairs strategist, widely recognised for his leadership in Nigeria’s diaspora engagement.
Prince Omole, often described as the “Face of the Nigerian Diaspora,” is the Chairman of the Nigeria Diaspora Voting Council (NDVC) and played a key role in the 2023 presidential election as Director of the Diaspora Directorate of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.
He is also a convener of The Asiwaju Group, a platform instrumental in mobilising both national and diaspora support for the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
