First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on Thursday visited the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jabi, Abuja, to welcome the first baby of the year 2026, a baby girl born in the early hours of the New Year.
The first lady congratulated the mother, Mrs. Okoh Patience Omeyi, and her family, describing the birth as a symbol of hope and new beginnings for the nation. During the visit, Senator Tinubu presented a birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission (NPC), along with gifts, to the newborn and her parents.
Also present were the Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim; the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud; and the Wife of the Vice President, Nana Shettima.
During the same visit, the first lady also met the family of triplets born at the facility and recognised them as the “Triplets of the Year 2026.” She commended the medical personnel at FMC Jabi for their professionalism and dedication to maternal and child healthcare.
