First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged Nigerians to adopt renewable energy solutions as part of collective efforts to promote a cleaner and healthier environment.
She made the call in a message released on Sunday to commemorate the 2026 International Day of Clean Energy, observed annually on January 26.
Mrs Tinubu stressed that the global celebration serves as a reminder of humanity’s shared responsibility to protect the environment for present and future generations. She encouraged citizens to embrace sustainable energy technologies, describing clean energy as critical to healthy living, environmental protection, and long-term survival.
The First Lady also called on Nigerians to actively contribute to environmental preservation, noting that individual and collective actions are essential to building a greener society.
The International Day of Clean Energy is marked worldwide to raise awareness about the importance of clean and renewable energy as a key solution to environmental pollution and climate change.
