Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has commenced the payment of the 13th month salary to state workers to enable them adequately prepare for the yuletide season.
Reports from the Office of the Accountant-General indicate that the payment began on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, in fulfilment of the governor’s earlier promise that workers would receive their 13th month salary on or before December 20.
Governor Eno had made the commitment on Sunday, November 30, 2025, assuring workers of the administration’s continued support and welfare as the Christmas season approached.
The 13th month salary, which has become a consistent feature of the administration since it assumed office in 2023, is aimed at easing the financial burden on workers and boosting morale. In addition to regular remuneration, the payment allows workers to benefit from other bonuses and welfare packages, further motivating the state workforce.
