  • Boluwatife Balogun, known as Champz, is the son of Nigerian music icon Wizkid.
  • At just 14 years old, he has become the youngest Nigerian artist to achieve 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
  • This milestone was reached shortly after the release of his debut EP, Champion’s Arrival.

Boluwatife Balogun popularly called Champz and the son of Nigerian music icon Wizkid has set a new record as the youngest Nigerian artist to reach 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify at just 14 years old.

The rising star hit this milestone shortly after releasing his debut EP, Champion’s Arrival. The five-track project, which blends rap, afro-swing, and Afrobeats, quickly caught listeners’ attention and showcased his strong musical potential.

Only hours after its release, the EP soared to No. 1 on the Apple Music Nigeria Top Albums chart, making Champz the youngest Nigerian act to achieve the feat.

Though various reports emphasize the Spotify achievement, one thing is clear: Champz’s debut has made a significant impression. His numbers keep climbing, and the young talent is already proving he has what it takes to thrive in the industry drawing inspiration from his father while building his own distinct identity.

In other news… A Nigerian man, James Eze, is seeking legal counsel after his girlfriend reportedly refused to marry him following his sponsorship of her through nursing school.

The situation came to light via a post shared by Facebook user Maria Ude Nwachi, detailing the verbal agreement Eze made with his girlfriend and her mother:

“James Eze👉I had a verbal agreement with my girlfriend and her mom to sponsor her to nursing school, then we marry afterwards. She completed last year and now wants to reject me. What are my legal options please?”.

The post has gone viral, eliciting varied reactions from netizens. While some dismissed the idea of a legal claim, others offered emotional advice.

Beautiful Oyinye commented: “Osi legal option? My brother you did charity work and God go bless you😂”.

Chukwudi Ozalla advised: “Take a verbal option. Just talk and express your anger and let it end there. Goodluck in your future endeavours”.

Mubeen questioned the man’s premise: “She force you?. As I no gree sponsor my babe now, e no pain me if she leave later. I dey invest for my future wife and not unassured lady on the present”.
