President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima have praised Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Senator Hope Uzodimma, on his 67th birthday, describing him as a progressive leader, a patriot, and a dependable force for national unity and development.
In a birthday tribute released on December 11, President Tinubu described Uzodimma as a “true representation of a progressive, both in ideal and action,” commending his belief in Nigeria’s unity and potential. He noted the governor’s role as a Renewed Hope Ambassador and his efforts to strengthen national cohesion as evidence of his patriotism.
The president praised Uzodimma’s leadership style as expansive, accommodating, and decisive, adding that his emergence as PGF Chairman demonstrates his ability to unite leaders and inspire loyalty within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Reflecting on Uzodimma’s political career, Tinubu recalled his tenure as Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District from 2011, noting his quality and impactful representation. Since assuming office as governor in 2020, Uzodimma has recorded steady progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and security in Imo State.
At a personal level, President Tinubu described the governor as affable, principled, and dependable, lauding his brilliance and problem-solving ability. He wished him many more years of good health and greater service to Nigeria and humanity.
Vice-President Kashim Shettima, in a separate statement on Saturday, congratulated Uzodimma on reaching 67, describing his leadership within the APC, Imo State, and the nation as exemplary and worthy of emulation.
Shettima commended the governor’s role as PGF Chairman, noting his exceptional capacity to unite and galvanise APC governors in support of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He added that Uzodimma’s recent appointment as a Renewed Hope Ambassador reflects the President’s confidence in his leadership and dedication to national progress.
