President Bola Tinubu has congratulated veteran politician, academic, and former minister Professor Jerry Gana on his 80th birthday.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President celebrated Professor Gana’s decades of service to Nigeria’s socio-political development.
Professor Gana, a prominent figure in national affairs, served twice as Minister of Information and Culture/National Orientation under different administrations. He also headed the Directorate of Mass Mobilisation for Social Justice and Economic Recovery (MAMSER) during the Ibrahim Babangida regime and was elected to the Senate in the aborted Second Republic.
President Tinubu described him as “a fine gentleman, prolific communicator, mass mobiliser, and passionate patriot blessed with the gift of oratory.”
He praised Gana’s contributions to national unity, peacebuilding, and value reorientation through mass mobilisation and public sensitisation efforts over the years.
The president wished the elder statesman a happy 80th birthday, praying for continued good health and long life.
