According to a statement issued by the outgoing Secretary-General, Dr Yusuf Olanrewaju Lateef, the election was conducted by a committee chaired by Benjamin Ibeintoye.
Other newly elected officials include Dr Muhammad Kudu Abubakar as Vice President (North), Professor Chubuzor Nwobueze as Vice President (South), and Dr John Tor Tsuwa as Secretary-General.
The list also features Ms Simiat Abaru as Assistant Secretary-General, Mr Bode Ojomu as Publicity Secretary, Dr Shehu Hashim as Treasurer, and Mrs Bimbo Alabi as Financial Secretary.
Dr Lateef noted that the new National Working Committee is expected to steer the organisation towards strengthening excellence in peace studies and practice in Nigeria and beyond.
Outgoing president, Mr Nathaniel Msen Awuapila, congratulated the new leadership and pledged a smooth handover, scheduled to be concluded by 12 January 2026, marking three full years of his administration.
