Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Tinubu, on Monday arrived in Lagos as the special guest of honour at the opening ceremony of the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference 2025.
The event is being held at Nebo Hall, Abalti Barracks, Ojuelegba.
The conference, themed “Examining the current landscape of terrorism through the lenses of diplomatic and military actions: strategies for long-term prevention and stabilization,” is designed as a knowledge-sharing forum to strengthen professional excellence within the Nigerian Army and enhance its service to the nation and the African continent.
Shettima is expected to formally declare the conference open and reiterate the federal government’s commitment to and support for ongoing military operations across the country.
The vice president was received on arrival by the deputy governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.
