In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Alli Ibraheem, the monarch praised the minister’s “professional and timely response,” describing it as a strong demonstration of commitment to democratic governance in Africa.
Oba Akanbi said Musa’s prompt action, delivered just days after assuming office, had further strengthened Nigeria’s reputation as a stabilising force in West Africa.
He described the minister as a gallant officer whose long-standing defence of democratic institutions at home and in neighbouring countries highlighted his patriotism and suitability for the role.
“Your timely intervention in restoring democracy in the Republic of Benin is not only a mark of loyalty but also a testament to merit and credibility. You have raised the bar for Nigeria as the hope of the black race,” the Oluwo stated.
The monarch expressed confidence that Musa would bring the same discipline, experience, and patriotic zeal to Nigeria’s fight against insecurity. He prayed for the minister’s success and urged him to continue championing peace and stability across the continent.
