The interception followed credible human intelligence indicating that the supplies were being transported from Dapchi in Yobe State to the Magumeri general area of Borno State. Acting swiftly on the intelligence, troops were tactically deployed along the identified route and successfully intercepted the vehicles.
Items recovered during the operation include two civilian vehicles, 31 spare tyres, 23 spare rims, two bicycles, 12 ignition key starters, three alternators, two bags of flour, one mattress, five bags of charcoal, 34 tubers of yam, two blankets, two nylons of garri, assorted adult and children’s clothing, one power bank, six mobile phones and cash in various denominations.
The drivers conveying the items, together with the recovered materials, have been taken into military custody for further interrogation.
Military sources said investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement and to support ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
The Nigerian Army noted that the successful interception highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations and the sustained cooperation between troops and local security partners in disrupting terrorist logistics networks.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to denying terrorists freedom of movement, cutting off their supply chains and ensuring the safety and security of law-abiding citizens across the North-East.
