According to a statement issued by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the aircraft departed Lagos but developed a technical concern shortly after takeoff. The crew diverted to the nearest airfield in line with standard safety procedures and international aviation protocols.
All personnel on board were reported safe and have received cordial treatment from Burkinabe authorities.
The Air Force said arrangements are underway for the mission to resume as planned. It also reiterated its commitment to strict operational procedures and safety standards in safeguarding its personnel while carrying out its constitutional duties.
