  • Cubana Chief Priest has stirred controversy online after flaunting his Owerri mansion and mocking Lagos residents as “broke, fake, and homeless.”
  • The Instagram post, seen as a swipe at Detty December revelers, sparked mixed reactions, with many accusing him of deliberately provoking Lagosians and igniting an unnecessary city rivalry.

Controversial celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest (Pascal Okechukwu) has ignited a social media storm with a scathing jab at Lagos residents, contrasting their perceived struggles with his opulent lifestyle in Owerri.

The flamboyant personality took to his Instagram to showcase his sprawling mansion in Owerri, Imo State, while simultaneously dismissing “Detty December” revelers in Lagos as “broke, fake, and homeless.”

In a direct address to his followers, Chief Priest declared:

“Na broke, fake and homeless people full Lagos like this dey shout oblee.”

His post quickly went viral, drawing strong reactions from netizens. Many interpreted his statement as a deliberate provocation, aimed at those who spend lavishly during the festive season in Lagos while allegedly living beyond their means.

In other news….. Pastor Chris Okafor of Grace Nation Global has reacted to the criticism trailing a testimony he shared alongside his wife, Pearl, stating that the complete details of their experience will be revealed at the appropriate time.

The couple had earlier spoken about how their relationship began, with Pearl explaining that their union was not driven by human influence or manipulation but was divinely arranged.

During his wedding thanksgiving service held on Sunday, December 21, Pastor Okafor addressed members of his congregation, explaining that the short testimony they shared unexpectedly generated backlash.

According to him, “The devil became angry with just this little one we showed.”

He clarified that the testimony was not shared to seek attention or sympathy but to acknowledge God’s work in their lives. He further noted that both he and his wife intentionally chose not to disclose the full details yet, emphasising the importance of timing and spiritual wisdom when sharing personal encounters.

Despite this, the pastor assured congregants that the complete story would be told in the future.

“Someday, and at the right time, we will share our stories, but for now, we just want to give thanks to God. I want you to know we prayed, sought the face of the Lord, and He gave us direction, and we followed it. There are encounters to this that you will not know now, but not long from now, we will tell our story. Nobody can tell our story,” he said.

Pastor Chris also took a moment to appreciate members of the church and the public, regardless of their reactions.

“I want to thank everyone, whether you are happy or not, thank you. In any way you believe we have offended you, we are sorry.”
