Ayodele Fayose, former governor of Ekiti state, has launched a blistering attack on the leadership style of Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo state.
In an interview with TVC, Fayose described the Oyo governor as a “small boy”, accusing Makinde of abusing political authority and dismantling the structure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the south-west zone.
The former Ekiti governor also alleged that many loyal PDP stakeholders who supported Makinde’s rise to power have been sidelined under his administration.
He further claimed that the governor has taken control of strategic state assets for political convenience, insisting that the development has deepened grievances within the party.
“Almost everybody who worked for his ascension has been driven away. Makinde has destroyed all PDP structures in the south-west,” Fayose said.
“In Osun recently, somebody who did not obtain the PDP nomination form became the candidate of the party. The person who was alleged to have killed Bola Ige at that time became the candidate of the PDP in Osun. He didn’t obtain the form.”
“When I went to Osun to conduct the primary, Makinde organised the drivers’ union to attack me. He eventually sent that guy to Agodi Prison. Makinde is a small boy.”
The remarks have sparked fresh political tension within the PDP amid ongoing struggles for control and influence in the south-west.
