The Kwara State Government has advised residents to exercise heightened vigilance and avoid non-essential movements or large gatherings that could be targeted by criminal elements.
This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ilorin and signed by the Commissioner for Communications, Bolanle Olukoju.
The advisory follows intelligence reports indicating that some individuals of ill intent are planning attacks on government infrastructure and other soft targets in response to recent setbacks suffered by their groups.
The government urged citizens to remain alert, particularly during crossover services and the New Year holiday, assuring that security agencies will sustain efforts to safeguard lives and property across the state.
Residents were also encouraged to promptly report any suspicious activities or unusual movements, especially convoys of motorcycles, to the appropriate security authorities.
