Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for Jos, Plateau State, to attend the graduation ceremony of participants of Senior Executive Course 47 (2025) at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
NIPSS serves as a centre for policy development, advocacy, training, and advisory services for senior bureaucrats, security personnel, and leaders in the public and private sectors across Nigeria, West Africa, and the continent.
The visit comes days after participants of Senior Executive Course 47 paid a courtesy visit to the Vice President at the Presidential Villa, where they presented a report on the blue economy. Among its recommendations was the proposed launch of a national fisheries expansion programme aimed at increasing fish production from 1.2 metric tonnes to 10 metric tonnes within two years through public–private partnerships.
During the graduation ceremony, the Vice President is expected to highlight the role of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in driving socio-economic development and expanding opportunities for Nigerians.
Shettima is accompanied on the trip by the Chairman of the NIPSS Board, Senator Ken Nnamani; the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President in the Office of the Vice President, Senator Ibrahim Hadejia; and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Agribusiness and Productivity, Dr Kingsley Uzoma.
