Jonathan, in a condolence message on Friday, disclosed that he received the news of Oborawharievwo’s death with “deep shock and sadness,” noting that the late deputy governor was a devoted public servant who worked tirelessly for the welfare of Bayelsa people.
He described Oborawharievwo as a patriot and loyal steward whose years in public office were marked by diligence, commitment, and an unwavering passion for development.
The former president stated that the deceased distinguished himself with depth, insight, eloquence, and a warm sense of humour in every position he occupied, including as commissioner, senator, and later deputy governor.
Jonathan noted that Oborawharievwo’s passing was a profound loss not only to his family and the Bayelsa State Government but also to all who knew him closely.
He affirmed that the late deputy governor would be remembered for his forthrightness, dedication to service, and steadfast pursuit of progress for the state.
Jonathan extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the Bayelsa State Government, urging them to find solace in Oborawharievwo’s impactful and selfless life of service.
