The Igbomina Professionals Association (IPA) has welcomed the appointment of Chief Kunle Akogun as the Akogun of Oke-Ode Land in Kwara State and Secretary to the Elesa-in-Council, describing it as a timely step towards strengthening traditional administration in the community.
In a statement signed by its president, Lawyer Olabode Iranloye, Esq., the association said the appointment reflects Chief Akogun’s proven record of service, integrity, and leadership. IPA expressed confidence that he would bring administrative depth, unity, and a strong developmental focus to his new role.
The association also commended the Elesa of Oke-Ode Land, His Royal Highness Oba Muftau Akanbi Adebayo Ibrahim, Ilufemiloye I, for approving the appointment. It noted that the monarch’s decision demonstrated foresight and a commitment to effective traditional governance by selecting a widely respected and community-oriented leader.
According to IPA, the appointment is a strategic move aimed at reinforcing traditional institutions and improving communal administration in Oke-Ode.
While congratulating Chief Akogun, the association urged him to discharge his duties with humility, dedication, and a strong sense of unity. IPA also prayed for continued wisdom and good health for Kabiyesi and wished the new appointee success in the service of the community.
