The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has given the green light for the design and construction of a new headquarters for the Bank of Industry (BoI) at Eko Atlantic City in Lagos.
The approval was announced by the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Senator John Enoh, while addressing journalists after Wednesday’s council meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu in Abuja.
Enoh explained that the FEC considered five major submissions from his ministry, three of which targeted industrial growth while the remaining two focused on strengthening trade and investment.
Among the approvals was the BoI headquarters project, which he described as a significant step in supporting the bank’s expanding mandate in industrial financing, SME development and export-driven manufacturing.
According to the minister, the contract awarded will cover both the architectural design and full construction of the new BoI corporate office within the fast-developing Eko Atlantic district.
In another move aligned with the administration’s industrial and automotive sector reforms, the council also endorsed the procurement of 200 electric buses for the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC).
Enoh disclosed that the buses, valued at ₦58 billion, form part of the federal government’s push towards cleaner transportation and the gradual integration of electric mobility into the national transport ecosystem.
He noted that the approvals reflect the government’s commitment to advancing industrial infrastructure, encouraging sustainable technology and supporting innovation across key sectors.
