Governor Monday Okpebholo disclosed that the state is finalising plans to procure multifunctional security drones to improve surveillance, early detection, and rapid response capabilities.
The governor made the announcement during a courtesy visit by the new Commander of the 4 Brigade, Brig. Gen. Ahmed Olatunboju Balogun. He pledged full state support, including improved infrastructure, enhanced logistics, and the acquisition of the drones, to strengthen security operations.
“To secure a new Edo State free from insecurity, we are acquiring multifunctional drones with advanced capabilities,” Governor Okpebholo said.
In response, Brig. Gen. Balogun commended the governor’s dedication to public safety. “I see the passion and drive Governor Monday Okpebholo has for security; it is top-notch. I will work closely with the state government to ensure Edo becomes even safer,” he said.
Governor Okpebholo reiterated that the partnership with the military would continue to be strengthened to safeguard communities and promote peace throughout Edo State.
