Osawaru, who is married to Nigerian music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, is expected to face the committee within a week to address concerns raised by the footage.
One of the videos showed Osawaru and 2Baba engaging in a heated argument during an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze. Tensions reportedly heightened when 2Baba’s former managers, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, joined the stream and accused Osawaru of attempting to take “full control” of the singer’s finances and career.
2Baba abruptly intervened, asking his former managers to stop discussing his private affairs, but moments later, off-camera audio captured a loud exchange between the couple. Another clip showed Osawaru apparently shouting at the musician in a London shop.
During Tuesday’s plenary, Speaker Blessing Agbebaku said Osawaru’s conduct had brought negative attention to the legislature, stressing that members are expected to uphold decorum.
“Honourable Natasha Irobosa has been summoned to appear before the ethics and privileges committee over her recent conduct which has been trending online,” he said. “This house is a decent house with responsible and intelligent members. The conduct of a member cannot drag the house into disrepute.”
The committee is expected to present its findings to the assembly within two weeks.
