At the meeting, Commissioner for Works Abdulquawy Olododo outlined official records indicating that the AbdulRazaq administration had delivered more completed, ongoing or facilitated road projects than the three previous administrations combined since 1999. He explained that the government has completed 302.4km of roads, has 275.25km ongoing, including 209.7km under RAAMP, and delivered 294km through tax credit arrangements, bringing the total to 871.65km.
He further noted that between 1999 and 2019, the administrations of Mohammed Lawal, Abubakar Bukola Saraki and Abdulfatah Ahmed constructed a combined 651.2km of roads, including the federally funded Chickanda Road, stressing that the current administration had surpassed that record.
Turning to fiscal performance, Commissioner for Finance Dr Hauwa Nuhu highlighted the implementation of two minimum wages, the clearance of inherited salary and pension arrears, and sustained attention to workers’ welfare. She disclosed that the state’s internally generated revenue rose from N30.6bn in 2019 to N87.1bn as at December 19, 2025, representing over 100 per cent growth, alongside the payment of 100 per cent CONMESS and CONHESS and the approval of a 27.5 per cent Teachers’ Specific Allowance.
On the education front, Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development Dr Lawal Olohungbebe detailed the recruitment of 8,912 teachers, the construction of over 2,000 classrooms and the settlement of promotion arrears dating back to 2016. The session also featured presentations on urban renewal and the Kwara Smart City, with updates on housing projects and the construction of the Kwara State University of Education.
Several dignitaries at the event, including Senator Salihu Mustapha and Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation Prince Lateef Fagbemi, described the achievements as unprecedented and visible across the state, while calling for fairness and balance in public assessments of the administration.
Providing the legislative perspective, Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Engr Salihu Yakubu-Danladi, noted that projects were spread across all 24 constituencies and 193 wards. In the same vein, Director General of the Nigeria Orientation Agency, Alhaji Issa Lanre Onilu, observed that the scale of achievements exceeded expectations and deserved more strategic public communication.
In his remarks, Governor AbdulRazaq reaffirmed his commitment to building a lasting legacy of a viable state rather than a political dynasty. He also addressed security challenges, acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies in freeing resources for infrastructure development, and thanked party leaders and stakeholders for their continued support.
