President Bola Tinubu has extended condolences to former Bauchi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Adamu Muazu, on the passing of his mother, Hajiya Halima Suleiman Dabo, while also congratulating former Kano State Governor, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, on his 70th birthday.
In separate statements issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described Hajiya Halima as “a mother to all,” who lived a life of care and compassion that touched many beyond her immediate family.
“Hajiya was a mother to us all. Her prayers and moral support were not only for her immediate children but for all of us who, in one way or another, came in contact with her. We thank God for her life and for the beautiful way she spent it,” the President said.
He prayed to Allah to grant the late matriarch Aljanna Firdaus and to comfort the Muazu family during their period of grief.
Alhaji Muazu, a former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), governed Bauchi State during the same period that President Tinubu served as Governor of Lagos State.
In a separate message, President Tinubu congratulated Senator Ibrahim Shekarau on attaining the age of 70, describing his life as a shining example of dedication to public service.
He commended Shekarau’s remarkable career, which began as a classroom teacher before rising through the ranks to become a permanent secretary in the Kano State Civil Service, and later Governor of Kano State from 2003 to 2011.
President Tinubu also praised the former governor’s later contributions as Minister of Education (2014–2015) and as Senator representing Kano Central (2019–2023), noting his human-centered approach to leadership and governance. “Senator Shekarau’s commitment to education, public administration, and national development reflects his enduring passion for service,” the President said.
