President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain resolute in the face of escalating security threats, urging citizens across the country not to give in to fear or despair as government forces intensify operations to restore peace.
In a statement signed on Wednesday, the president delivered a rallying message of unity and resilience amid a wave of attacks on soft targets in several northern states.
“Fellow compatriots, I urge you not to give in to fear and never succumb to despair,” Tinubu said. “Let us stand together in purpose and strength to defend our freedom and values.”
The president emphasized that while Nigeria is going through a challenging period, national unity and public cooperation remain critical to defeating terrorism, banditry, and other violent crimes. He called on citizens to stay calm, remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and support security agencies working to protect communities.
Tinubu also extended condolences to families affected by recent attacks in Kebbi, Borno, Zamfara, Niger, Yobe, and Kwara States, and paid tribute to troops who have died in action — including Brigadier-General Musa Uba, whom he praised for his bravery and sacrifice.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and stabilizing the country, Tinubu said the ongoing nationwide security operations would strengthen the military and police through expanded recruitment and improved operational deployment.
He assured Nigerians that despite the severity of recent incidents, the nation will overcome its challenges. “We are in this fight together, and together we shall win,” the president said.
