The governor gave the commendation on Saturday when the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 7, Victor Olaiya, paid him a visit at the Government House, Minna, over the incident.
Bago reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing every necessary support to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted schoolchildren, stressing that the protection of lives and property remains the government’s primary responsibility.
Speaking during the visit, AIG Olaiya said he was in the state on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to commiserate with the government and people of Niger State over what he described as an unfortunate incident.
He assured that additional tactical teams and other security measures have been deployed to strengthen ongoing rescue efforts.
The AIG urged residents to give maximum cooperation to security operatives to ensure a successful and seamless rescue operation.
