Speaking to journalists after the FEC meeting, Umahi stated that the first phase of the project will cover 31 kilometres of the 207-kilometre corridor. He emphasized that the road will feature a full concrete pavement to ensure durability and long-term sustainability.
The approval comes on the heels of Governor AbdulRazaq’s recent flag-off of the 15.1km Ojoku–Ilemona Road, further strengthening infrastructural development across the state.
The Ilorin–Omu Aran–Egbe Road is a key transport artery linking several communities in Kwara South and extending to Okunland in neighbouring Kogi State.
It serves as a crucial economic and transportation corridor, facilitating the movement of residents, commuters, and goods.
