In a statement issued on Monday, Olaopa appealed for understanding from candidates sitting for the Computer-Based Test (CBT), noting that the Commission was aware of the challenges they might encounter while preparing for the exercise.
He acknowledged recent concerns raised on social media regarding the conduct of the examinations, admitting that, as with most innovations, the transition phase could come with some challenges.
“Transition from manual examinations to CBT comes with its attendant hurdles both for the FCSC and the candidates,” the statement read.
Olaopa explained that the Commission’s partnership with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for the conduct of the 2025 Directorate Level CBT examination was designed to ensure credibility and transparency, while also prioritizing the convenience of participants.
“As the Commission leverages JAMB facilities for the conduct of the 2025 Directorate Level CBT examination, we are not only concerned about the credibility and transparency of the process, but also the convenience of the candidates. Hence, the commencement of the first run exercise at JAMB Centres in the FCT,” he said.
He added that, following feedback from the public, the Commission would consider decentralizing examination centres across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory in future exercises.
According to him, the FCSC plans to adopt additional technology-enabled innovations to make future examinations more seamless and accessible for all candidates.
