President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), on his 60th birthday.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu lauded Professor Sulaiman’s “long and distinguished career” in academia and public service.
The President commended the former Minister of National Planning for his contributions to governance and institutional development, noting his roles as Deputy Chairman of the National Planning Commission and now as Director-General of NILDS, where he has “strengthened legislative capacity and deepened democratic governance” in Nigeria.
President Tinubu also praised Professor Sulaiman’s dedication to research, teaching, and policy development, as well as his leadership in building NILDS into a centre of excellence for legislative studies and democratic development.
He highlighted the Director-General’s commitment to training lawmakers and policy leaders across Nigeria and West Africa, describing his efforts as vital to advancing democratic governance in the region.
The President extended his warm wishes to Professor Sulaiman on his milestone anniversary, praying for his “continued health, wisdom, and greater service to the nation.”
