Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., GCON, has congratulated former Vice President, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, on his turbaning as the Sardaunan Zazzau, describing the honour as both prestigious and well deserved.
The ceremony, which took place on Saturday at the Emir’s Palace in Zaria, was performed by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli. The event drew several dignitaries, including Speaker Abbas, who was present to witness the traditional investiture.
In his congratulatory message, Speaker Abbas, himself a prince of the Zazzau Emirate, said the conferment of the Sardauna title on the former Vice President underscores the Emirate’s deep respect and confidence in his contributions to national development.
“Alhaji Namadi Sambo is one of the finest elder statesmen that Kaduna State has produced. The title of Sardaunan Zazzau is not only historic but also reserved for individuals of great honour, service, and leadership. This recognition is well deserved,” Speaker Abbas stated.
He further expressed optimism that Alhaji Sambo would continue to use his new role to promote unity, peace, and progress across Nigeria, noting that the title places him in a unique position as a cultural ambassador of the Zazzau Emirate.
The Speaker also commended the Emir of Zazzau for upholding the Emirate’s long-standing tradition of honouring distinguished personalities who embody integrity and leadership.
“By conferring this title on the former Vice President, the Emir has once again demonstrated his commitment to recognizing excellence and strengthening the cultural fabric of the Zazzau Emirate,” Abbas added.
Speaker Abbas extended his best wishes to Alhaji Sambo for a successful and impactful reign as Sardaunan Zazzau.
