The feud between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj resurfaced on Wednesday, October 1, reigniting their long history of rivalry. What initially appeared as vague commentary on album sales quickly escalated into a heated online confrontation.
According to Complex and E! News, Nicki Minaj directed her criticism at Cardi’s new project, Am I the Drama?. She allegedly ridiculed the album’s performance and hinted that its sales figures were exaggerated. Though her posts were later deleted, they sparked strong reactions.
Cardi B responded aggressively on X, branding Minaj “a bored [expletive]” and adding, “You must’ve missed me, huh crazy?? Now kiss my feet.”
In another post, Cardi pressed further, questioning why Nicki continues to reference her:
“You been in the game like 16 years.. you need to compare yourself to YOUR peers… Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Drake. Those are the numbers you need to be competing wit and you can’t cuz you doing lower than all of them.”
Screenshots also circulated showing Minaj mocking Cardi’s lyrics, pregnancy, and even implying she had surgery to resemble her. One of the taunts read:
“Fallin off the charts wit a big bellyyyy / RUNNING TRAINS… Barefoot, still smellyyyyy.”
As the online dispute escalated, both women reportedly brought each other’s families into the argument.
Cardi, who is expecting her fourth child with boyfriend Stefon Diggs, stated she would not jeopardize her career by trading insults indefinitely. Instead, she urged Minaj to seek healing:
“YOU NEED TO GET HELP!! You need to heal that trauma… you always coming at people every time you see them happy because you got so much trauma and pain that you wanna put on others.”
Nicki, however, appeared to escalate matters further, allegedly calling on her fans to boycott companies linked to Cardi. She wrote:
“We will boycott every company attached to her. Just like we did with BET… Every company that enabled her disgusting remarks… you have 3 days to cut ties. That is it.”
The animosity between the two dates back to their infamous 2018 New York Fashion Week altercation, when Cardi was caught on camera lunging at Minaj. Six years later, the tension between them shows no sign of easing.
