The Nigerian Army has announced that it recorded significant successes between October 8 and 11, 2025, through a series of coordinated, intelligence-driven operations across multiple regions, resulting in the neutralization of terrorists, rescue of hostages, arrest of criminal elements, and recovery of substantial quantities of arms, ammunition, and logistics supplies.
According to military reports, the operations, conducted simultaneously across the South East, North East, North West, North Central, and South-South regions, dealt a heavy blow to terrorist networks and criminal groups threatening national security.
In the South East, troops of Sector 2, Operation UDO KA, tracked and neutralized a wanted IPOB/ESN commander known as Alhaji at his hideout in Ezza-Eyimaggu, Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. The militant leader, who attempted to disarm a soldier during arrest, was eliminated after a brief struggle. Similarly, troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade on patrol in Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State, discovered and destroyed an IPOB/ESN shrine used for indoctrination and recruitment.
In the North East, troops of Forward Operating Base Gajiram, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, engaged ISWAP/JAS terrorists along the Gajiram–Bolori–Mile 40–Gajiganna axis in Borno State. Four terrorists were neutralized, and two civilians held hostage were rescued. Troops recovered over ₦4.3 million, two mobile phones, an AK-47 rifle, and ammunition. Additionally, troops of the 109 Special Forces Battalion in Magumeri killed five terrorists and seized more weapons and ammunition.
Three ISWAP/JAS fighters also surrendered to troops of the 242 Recce Battalion in Monguno, Borno State, after abandoning their camps around the Timbuktu Triangle, citing frustration and exhaustion. Meanwhile, air strikes conducted by the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI at Gebe Primary School in Isa LGA, Sokoto State, reportedly decimated several terrorist leaders.
In the North West, troops of 8 Division Garrison, working with local vigilantes, intercepted logistics couriers transporting hard drugs and motorcycle parts from Lagos to Zamfara State. The suspects were handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS) for further investigation. Troops of 1 Brigade in Anka LGA, Zamfara State, also rescued abducted victims and neutralized armed terrorists during a pursuit operation.
Across the North Central region, troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE conducted raids in Nasarawa and Benue States, arresting multiple kidnapping suspects, rescuing victims, and recovering weapons, charms, and other exhibits. Similarly, troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN on the Plateau foiled a cattle rustling attempt in Barkin Ladi and arrested five drug peddlers in Bassa LGA.
In the South-South, troops of Sector 3, Operation DELTA SAFE, clashed with cultists in Rivers State, killing two and arresting one suspect, while recovering rifles, ammunition, motorcycles, and military accoutrements. In Edo State, troops of 4 Brigade rescued a kidnapped victim in Esan South-East LGA and recovered the victim’s vehicle.
