Nigerian rapper and singer Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, widely known as Odumodu Blvck, has reflected on a memorable experience with his uncle during his teenage years.
In a post that has since gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), the artist recalled the words his uncle frequently shared with him when he was 19.
“Mr Eazi had an uncle who lent him ₦19 million at 19. At 19, my uncles would only say, ‘You’ve grown o.’ They gave me food, but that was it,” Odumodu wrote.
His comment followed revelations from fellow musician Mr Eazi, who recently spoke about his own early financial struggles.
During a UK podcast interview, the emPawa Africa founder now married to Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire Femi Otedola disclosed that he once borrowed ₦19 million from his uncle to launch a diesel venture.
According to Mr Eazi, the investment collapsed within three months, wiping out the entire amount. “At 19, I borrowed ₦19 million from my uncle for a diesel business. Three months later, the business failed and I lost it all,” he recounted.
