Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has sparked concern among fans after disclosing that she was recently admitted to the hospital.
The Yoruba film star posted a picture on Instagram showing herself on a hospital bed with a drip attached to her hand.
She captioned the post:
“Internet dragging and ICU are siblings. Good morning still.”
In follow-up Instagram stories, Wumi asked her followers and loved ones to remember her in their prayers for quick recovery.
Her post spread rapidly online, prompting fans and colleagues to flood her page with messages of encouragement and goodwill.
Earlier, GistLover had reported on Wumi’s change of stance following her online clash with actor and producer Afeez Owo, the husband of actress Mide Martins.
During the dispute, Afeez described Wumi in an interview as someone who only reacts when provoked but does not tolerate disrespect.
The actress hit back strongly, calling Afeez an elderly man who should avoid unnecessary drama, although she admitted she still respected him despite what she termed his “unfortunate behaviours.”
Her response generated mixed reactions, with many social media users criticising her for showing a lack of respect to a senior colleague.
After receiving heavy backlash, Wumi appeared to soften her tone. She later shared a video of herself on a plane, accompanied by a caption that once again stirred conversations among fans.
