The longstanding conflict between Nollywood stars Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin has flared up again, with Ojo announcing plans to pursue new legal action against her colleague over alleged defamatory statements, curses, and threats aimed at her family.
This announcement follows the dismissal of Ojo’s ₦1 billion defamation case against Anjorin by the Lagos State High Court, Osborne Division, earlier this year. The court cited procedural issues and ordered Ojo’s lawyer, Olabimpe Ajegbomogun, to pay ₦500,000 in legal costs to Anjorin’s attorney, Ademola Olabiyi.
In a detailed Instagram post on Monday, Ojo revealed that her legal team has been closely tracking Anjorin’s remarks and documenting them for potential legal action.
“My legal team isn’t sleeping. They are taking note of everything. A wise person listens to learned counsel. Everything has its timing,” she stated.
The actress expressed deep concern over repeated insults, curses, and alleged death threats Anjorin has directed at her children and grandson.
“The insults, curses, even death wishes Liz has directed at my family, especially my grandson, are heartbreaking. Most times, I struggle to hold my peace, but I choose to ignore the distractions. Who God has blessed, no one can curse,” Ojo wrote.
Ojo explained that she had recently focused on celebrating her first grandchild and supporting her daughter but indicated that firmer legal measures would be taken upon her return to Lagos.
The rivalry between the two actresses spans several years and has frequently played out both online and in court. Sources suggest the tension intensified after Ojo publicly backed Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General and daughter of President Bola Tinubu, who is also married to Anjorin’s husband.
This support allegedly triggered a series of accusations and online attacks from Anjorin, fueling ongoing animosity. Anjorin has reportedly used Facebook live sessions to ridicule Ojo, resulting in parody videos circulating on platforms like TikTok.
Ojo has accused Anjorin of orchestrating threats against her family, including a letter sent to her daughter, Priscilla, in May, which warned that their activities were being monitored. The feud escalated further after a fire at Ojo’s Lagos office, which she claimed could be linked to ongoing threats, asserting that Anjorin should be held accountable if harm comes to her family.
Despite setbacks in court, Ojo has maintained a measured silence, guided by legal advice and personal restraint. However, she emphasized in her Monday post that she would no longer allow the matter to remain unresolved.
“Silence can be powerful,” she noted, adding that while she had previously ignored the provocations to focus on family, the time for legal action is approaching.
With a combination of lawsuits, petitions, online taunts, and personal threats defining their rivalry, the dispute between Ojo and Anjorin continues to be one of Nollywood’s most public and contentious feuds.
