The rift between May Yul-Edochie and her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, has taken another turn after he made a post exposing her.
Ugwuonye, in a Facebook update, published a chat he allegedly had with May about court sessions relating to her divorce from Yul. According to him, the messages show how he guided her and offered top support, only for her to turn against him.
He further described May as “a liar and fake,” warning that she should hope he doesn’t release more information.
This comes shortly after May filed a cease-and-desist notice against him, demanding ₦1 billion in damages. In the letter, her legal team instructed him to take down all defamatory statements, make a public apology, and stop publishing damaging claims about her.
The notice partly read:
“Cease and Desist from making or publishing any further defamatory or malicious statements against our client, whether directly or indirectly. Withdraw all posts or publications made by you, or caused to be made by you, concerning our client on each and every medium used in perpetrating these defamatory and malicious acts.”
“Issue a Clear and Public Apology and publish a full retraction of every derogatory statement you have made against our client on all platforms where such statements were made. Furthermore, you are hereby demanded to make payment of the sum of N1,000,000,000.00 (One Billion Naira) as damages for the malicious publications made against our client.”
In response, Emeka wrote in his fresh post:
“If you see the chats between us, you will understand how fake May is and what a terrible liar she is. All those who believe her are just pitiable. I was covering her up, telling you nice stories to package a compulsive liar. But she went too far by trying to lie against me.”
“Can you see how I was guiding her on when to get to court. I gave this woman first class treatment. I would send her the cause list and guide her so she would not wait long before her case would be called. I thought I was helping a woman that needed help. I didn’t know I was encouraging a born-again liar. She should pray that I don’t release too much.”
