A Dream Answered Before 40

Toke Makinwa revealed that she had prayed earnestly to God to bless her with a child before she turned 40. She made that prayer a personal covenant, believing strongly that it would come to pass.

According to her, the answer came right on time. She celebrated her 40th birthday in November and, just a month later in December, found out she was pregnant.

“I told God I wanted to turn 40 as a mum. I turned 40 in November, and He did it in December. He didn’t fail. God is never late,” she said with a smile.

Her story reflects the power of faith and persistence, a message that resonates deeply with many Nigerian women who aspire to balance career success with family life.

Overcoming Public Misconceptions

Over the years, Toke Makinwa has faced criticism from some quarters, with many accusing her of “bashing men” due to her frank opinions on relationships. She used the interview to set the record straight.

According to her, the belief that she hates men is far from the truth.

“The popular belief out there is that I bash men, I hate men. It’s never been the truth. I’m a hopeless romantic,” Toke clarified.

She explained that her outspoken nature is often misunderstood. While she speaks honestly about toxic behaviors and unhealthy relationships, it does not mean she despises men. On the contrary, she believes in love and cherishes romantic relationships.

The Untold Story Behind Her Thanksgiving Service

In the interview, Toke also revealed that many people did not know the reason behind a past Thanksgiving service she held. She disclosed that at the time, she was battling depression and struggling with personal challenges.

“People did not know that I was depressed. Till now, people did not know why I did that Thanksgiving service, and I’ve never talked about it till this moment,” she said.

Her openness sheds light on the importance of mental health awareness, especially for public figures who often suffer in silence behind their glamorous public image.

Faith as a Source of Strength

Toke credited her unwavering faith as the anchor that kept her going during tough times. She emphasized that while God’s timing may not align with our expectations, it is always perfect.

“He just didn’t do it the way I thought it was gonna happen,” she said, reflecting on how her path to motherhood took unexpected turns but still ended in joy.

Her testimony is a reminder to others to remain hopeful, even when life seems uncertain.

Balancing Fame, Business, and Motherhood

As one of Nigeria’s most influential media personalities, Toke Makinwa has built an impressive career that spans radio, television, fashion, and entrepreneurship.

With motherhood on the horizon, she says she is prepared to embrace the next chapter of her life. She intends to balance her demanding career with the responsibilities of parenting, relying on her support system and faith to guide her.

Many fans see her as a role model, proving that women can thrive in multiple aspects of life — from career success to family fulfillment.
