“I’ve been to that trending America. There’s no country better than our own country. There’s no place like our country if we can build our country. Imagine me going to America and requesting that I be taken back home. In Nigeria you come out and greet your neighbours, in America everybody passes you with no concern…”

In other news….. Dr. Temidayo Oniosun, the founder of Space in Africa and a renowned space scientist, has achieved a remarkable feat by sending Egusi, a traditional Nigerian delicacy, into space.
The update was revealed in a TikTok post and further featured in a BBC News Pidgin video, where Dr. Oniosun spoke about his motivation and journey.
Sharing his experience, he said:
“The reason I took Egusi to space is not hard to understand. Egusi is a food almost everyone in Nigeria eats. It’s indigenous to us.”
He also explained the inspiration behind the project, saying:
“We believe that in the future, people will live on the Moon, on Mars, and other planets. They will need to eat. That’s where the idea came from so it won’t look like we are not making plans. We should also carry out research on food from this part of the world.”
According to Dr. Oniosun, the Egusi was obtained from Oyo State before being sent to NASA’s agricultural laboratory in Florida, where food products are specially prepared for space missions.
The social media post, captioned “Egusi wey be confam local delicacy from Africa don go space come back! 🚀🚀🚀”, added:
“Like play, like play, Egusi wey be common food for countries like Nigeria, Ghana and others, don first millions of people go space.”
