Grateful for the blessing of her pregnancy, Nigerian media personality and former OAP Toke Makinwa recently shared some old messages from online trolls.
The messages were sent during a time when she was without a husband and had not yet started a family.
On Snapchat, Toke posted the messages, which mocked her for being childless and unmarried.
In response, she expressed gratitude, saying the trolls’ negativity only revealed the ill intentions of those who wished her harm.
She wrote:
“The God that steadily shames the devices of the wicked. The one that’ll always have the final say.
Thankful”.
In other news… A Nigerian man in Benin, Edo State, recounted a terrifying encounter with men he identified as police officers.
Stopped while returning from work, he said they profiled him as wealthy because of a photo of his American wife, beat him, handcuffed him, and demanded ₦1m.
He was held from 8 pm to 1 am while the officers also extorted other motorists, including ₦500,000 from a GLE driver.
He added that the officers, who wore no name tags or identification, eventually abandoned him by the roadside at 1 am when they couldn’t extort the large sum they demanded.
“They took my phone, my power bank, my charger, everything I had on me. My wife was at home crying, not knowing what had happened. These men are supposed to protect us, but they are kidnappers in uniform,” he said tearfully.
