Felix Duke, President of the Creative Industry Group, accused EFCC operatives of raiding his Abule Egba hotel, disrupting operations, damaging property, and allegedly stealing money.
He said eight officials stormed Duke and Duchess Hotel on August 1, 2025, without a valid warrant.
Duke claimed the raid was linked to a fraud allegation from a retired soldier involved in a land dispute with him.
He said, “The EFCC operatives arrived armed and without any legal documentation. They attempted to arrest my wife, Lady Capriz, while I was away. She is an American citizen and refused to go with them unless they produced a valid court warrant, which they could not provide.
“They blocked the entrance to the hotel, drove away customers, and began breaking into rooms, claiming they were looking for me. I later discovered that they carted away €5,000 that was kept in my room.”
Duke called the raid an act of intimidation, accusing the EFCC of using a retired soldier’s petition in a land dispute to harass him.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale denied any raid on the property.
“There is nothing like that. According to our Lagos Directorate in charge of Lagos, no such operation took place. It’s not the EFCC.
“The only arrest that was done by our men was done on Wednesday and it was at Chevron on Lagos Island and many suspects were arrested.
“So, there is no operation by our own men in that axis. So he should redirect his energy and insinuations to other quarters, not EFCC,” Oyewale told PUNCH Online in a telephone interview
