A security guard named Emani Ellis has filed a lawsuit against rapper Cardi B, accusing her of assault during an encounter at an OB-GYN clinic in 2018.
Ellis testified in court, claiming that Cardi B whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar lashed out after being recognized and spoken to. She alleged that the rapper shouted at her, poked her in the face, spat on her, and even instructed security personnel to restrain her.
Cardi B, however, gave a very different account. She told the court that Ellis attempted to film her without permission and became confrontational, insisting that she never physically touched the guard.
On the second day of proceedings, Cardi B appeared in court to reaffirm her denial of the accusations. Ellis is demanding compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and emotional suffering, in addition to a $25,000 civil penalty.
The case continues, with Cardi B expected to further testify as both sides present their versions of the incident.
