Nigerian actor Yomi Fabiyi has remained vocal in his pursuit of justice for the late singer Mohbad. However, tensions have continued to rise between him and Mohbad’s mother, particularly over the arrest and detention of her second son, Adura.
In a recent joint interview with Adura and his mother, the family distanced themselves from Fabiyi, warning him to stop involving himself in their affairs. During the interview, Adura shared his perspective on the events surrounding his late brother’s death.
Following this, Fabiyi took to social media to reveal that Adura had allegedly contacted him in 2024, during the early days of public advocacy for justice. According to the actor, Adura sent him a series of chat messages, claiming he possessed a video recording of a physical altercation between Mohbad and his wife, Wunmi. He allegedly requested ₦3 million in exchange for the footage.
In another message, Adura reportedly alleged that Wunmi pushed Mohbad during an argument, causing him to hit his head against a wall. Fabiyi claimed he submitted these chats to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), which has been handling the investigation from the outset.
He accused senior police officials, including the Lagos Commissioner of Police and others, of attempting to cover up critical aspects of the case. Fabiyi said he also contacted the Assistant Inspector General of Police at Zone 2, but the case was allegedly redirected back to Panti on the orders of the Inspector General.
Citing foul play, Fabiyi disclosed that he published an open letter to the President in a national daily (Vanguard Newspaper) and even traveled to the United Kingdom to formally present the evidence to the Nigerian Ambassador.
