Popular Nigerian skitmaker Kamo State has taken to social media to appreciate renowned actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele for her generosity, despite her request to keep it private.
During an Instagram Q&A session, the comedian revealed that Funke Akindele had recently gifted him a brand-new iPhone 16 Pro Max, reportedly worth N2.4 million, just a week ago. According to him, she had warned him not to publicize the gift online—but he couldn’t hold back his excitement.
He described Funke as a “mother to many”, acknowledging that she has been a source of immense support not only to him but also to his family.
In his words:
“Funke Akindele is a mother to many, even before I met her. I am just the dramatic son; that’s why mine is loud. Just last week, she bought me an iPhone 16 PROMAX for N2.4M and warned me not to post it. The things I post about her are just 1% out of the 100% she has done for me and my family.”
His revelation has drawn admiration from fans, many of whom praised Funke Akindele for her consistent support of young talents in the industry.

In other news, Reality TV star Kiddwaya has stepped in to support his fellow Big Brother Naija alum and former love interest, Erica Nlewedim, after she came under fire for not being fluent in Igbo.
The backlash began after a video surfaced online, showing Erica struggling to speak the language, which led to criticism from some social media users.
In her defense, Kiddwaya took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to shut down the mockery, stating that anyone who isn’t earning more than Erica has no business trolling her.
“If you’re not making more money than Erica then the joke is on you,” he posted.
Erica also responded shortly afterward, slamming her critics for focusing on trivial issues. She called them out for ignoring their own problems while targeting her over her inability to speak her native tongue.
“lol, they should keep ignoring real life problems and focusing on if a girl can speak a language or not,” she wrote.
The exchange has sparked mixed reactions online, with many fans praising Kiddwaya for standing up for Erica and questioning the importance of language fluency in defining cultural identity.
