Ademola Adeleke, the Osun State Governor has debunked media speculations suggesting that he would be defecting from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Reports had emerged claiming that Adeleke was planning to switch his allegiance from the PDP to the APC but the Osun State Governor on Saturday refuted the claim in a statement on his official X account.
“Over the last few hours, I have been inundated with calls regarding rumors of a possible defection. I want to assure the good people of Osun State and Nigerians at large; I remain a loyal member, and the leader of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State,” Adeleke wrote.
He added that his focus remains on delivering good governance and fulfilling the 5-point agenda of his administration for the people of Osun.
“Please disregard the fake news and continue to support our mission for a better Osun State,” Adeleke stated.
The speculation that Adeleke would be leaving the PDP for the APC had intensified when he visited President Bola Tinubu in Lagos during the muslim holiday, Eid El Kabir.
He paid a visit to Tinubu alongside his older brother, Adedeji Adeleke, the owner of Adeleke University and David Adeleke, the Afro Beats artiste, popularly known as Davido.
