Media personality Geh Geh has sparked heated reactions on Instagram after confidently naming Davido’s album 5ive as the top album of 2025, regardless of fan loyalties.

In a video posted on Tuesday, July 29, Geh Geh praised Davido’s latest project for its impact, replay value, and abundance of hit songs, declaring it a clear standout even as Wizkid and Burna Boy also released albums this year.

He called on music fans to drop emotional attachments and evaluate the albums purely on merit.

According to Geh Geh, Wizkid’s Morayo might have decent replay value but falls short of delivering a major hit track. He challenged fans to identify any standout song from the project that can compete with the year’s biggest chart-toppers.

Turning his attention to Burna Boy, the media figure accused the Grammy winner of focusing on controversy rather than musical quality. He pointed out that two songs on Burna’s project No Sign of Weakness, which he claimed targets Davido, and Dem Dey, allegedly aimed at Sophia Egbueje felt more like diss tracks than meaningful records. Geh Geh argued that this approach weakened the album and labeled it as one of Burna’s less impressive works.

In contrast, he hailed Davido’s 5ive as a complete and internationally appealing body of work, highlighting several hit tracks. Among them, he mentioned With You featuring Omah Lay, which he said is trending in cities like London and Manchester, as well as Awuke and Funds featuring The Odumodublvck and Chike.

Geh Geh concluded that Davido’s album stands out for having four to five solid hit songs and strong replay value, solidifying it as the best Nigerian album of 2025 so far.
