Mabel Oboh, the immediate past National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has urged political leaders to emulate the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie Oyegun, by joining the newest bride of Nigerian politics.
In response to Oyegun’s official welcome into the party, Oboh stated that Oyegun has taken an important step by officially joining the party in his state.
She emphasised that Oyegun has set an example for others who have joined the party, encouraging them to also obtain their membership cards from their respective state chapters.
It is worth noting that Oyegun received his ADC membership card from the Edo State chairman of the party, Kennedy Odion, in Benin, the state capital, on Tuesday.
Oboh pointed out that the challenge of rescuing Nigeria from poor leadership— which has led to insecurity, hunger, starvation, inflation, and unemployment—falls on all patriotic Nigerians, particularly those who have joined the ADC.
She also encouraged ADC members in Edo State to wholeheartedly welcome Oyegun into the party, as they stand to benefit greatly from his extensive experience in both state and national politics.
“I sincerely join my party members in my state, Edo State, precisely to welcome you, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, into the ADC family.
“I have no doubt that with you in ADC, it is a plus. You are a force to be reckoned with in the state and national politics.
“Your ideas and wealth of experience are what money cannot buy in the market.
“I strongly believe that starting from your state to the national, ADC is going to count on you for your ideas, suggestions and the way to move the party forward in the state and also ensure that come 2027, which is the presidential election, our party, the ADC will be able to take over power from the ruling APC.
“I want to assure you of my utmost support and also join my party in the state to welcome you to ADC,” Oboh said.
