  • MI Abaga, a renowned rapper and music executive, has expressed profound sorrow over the recent killings in Benue State, expressing solidarity with the affected communities.
  • The rapper on his official X page criticized the cycle of violence as a tragedy that has shattered families and communities, emphasizing its inability to be normalized.

Nigerian rapper and music executive, M.I Abaga, has voiced his grief and concern over the ongoing violence in Benue State, expressing solidarity with those affected.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the respected artist condemned the brutal attacks, describing them as a heartbreaking tragedy that continues to tear communities apart. He stressed the urgency of ending the cycle of bloodshed and called on authorities to act decisively.

M.I wrote: “My heart is heavy. It grieves me deeply to see so much of the Middle Belt bleed. The recent killings in Benue are not just statistics, they are our people, our families, our communities being torn apart.”

Standing with the victims, M.I added, “I stand in solidarity with my brothers and sisters in Benue. Your pain is my pain. We can’t normalise this cycle of violence that has plagued our land for too long. To those we’ve lost: we will not forget you. To those still standing, we stand with you.”

He urged the government to initiate a transparent investigation into the attacks and to bolster security in vulnerable areas to prevent further loss of life.
